John Bork Sales
John Bork Sales is a one man company dedicated to brining the
finest quality Rustic Equestrian and Southwestern
products to the furniture and gift retailers of Southern and Western,
. The vast majority of our lines are proudly made in
USA. John Bork Sales was founded in 1996 after an extensive career of
sales management in the Outdoor Industry and Athletic Footwear Industry.
As a father of five becoming a full time sale representative was a means of
providing Johnís family with the stability of growing up and attending schools
while making full use of his experience in Sales Marketing and Advertising.
Our territory spans from
in the South and going North as far as San Simeon on the northwestern corner of
and in the Northeastern section of the Owens valley including
, Bishop, and
. The Pacific Coast Line borders the
territory on the West and the California-Nevada border defines the territory on
After College at Western Michigan University
where he was a NCAA Champion
in the 880 Yard Dash, John became an
assistant Track Coach while earning a Masters Degree at
. Later John Bork became the Coach and Athletic Director of
Americaís finest Olympic Track and Field Stars
with the Southern California Striders Track Club.
These athletic endeavors lead to opportunities in the Athletic Shoe
Industry, with a fledging company Blue Ribbon Sports which, first imported Asics
Tiger shoes and then morphed into its own brand Nike. From there John went
on to work at runnerís World Magazine as Managing Director of the Starting
Line Sports Direct Mail Division where he met his wife, Lisa.
Johnís next career move was to establish his own company, River Systems; where
he successfully invented and designed over 30 fly fishing products which were
ís leading outdoor Companies including The Orvis Company, LL Bean, Eddie Bauer
Company and Cabelaís. One of River Systemís most interesting customers was
the Duke of Wellington, who loved the River systems Velcro Wading shoes so much
he ordered 3 pairs over the years, for his own fly fishing.
After selling River Systems to the OíNeill Company, John moved to
to become the National Sales and Marketing Manager for Abel Reels. The next
step was to establish John Bork Sales.
John and Lisa have now lived in
for over 18 years where they have raised and schooled
their five children, Eric, Ashley, Kevin
and Twins: Stephanie and Jennifer. At the
same time John has expanded his sales network
built on the good old American virtues of dependability, integrity, honesty
and hard work.
